Minecraft-Inspired Paper Circuits (full series)

There are seven different templates & projects in the attached PDF file. We'll walk through making the Light-Up LED Torch in this guide, but all of the project follow a similar building technique.

Each project is meant to be printed double-sided so you can build the circuit on the inside and see the art on the outside.

Note that there are two pages that were intentionally left black to accommodate printing double-sided.

You'll also find black & white versions that you can color yourself.

After you print the templates you'll need to cut them.

Always cut on the outside just in case your printer doesn't line things up perfectly.

If the inside is not perfectly aligned, that's okay! Just use it as a rough guide.

Tip: If you can't print double-sided easily just print out each page separately and use the diagram for reference when you build your circuit.

Fold each piece as indicated using the lines on the outside as a guide.

Grab your CR2032 Battery, a White Jumbo 10mm LED, and some Maker Tape...

Build your circuit as shown on template you printed out.

Note that we'll use a "Tape Loop" (a small loop of Maker Tape) beneath the battery to stick it down.

Maker Tape is conductive all the way through so it can secure our battery and allow current to flow. (Most copper tapes is not conductive on both sides so a tape loop will not work.)

Once you've got your circuit working you can assemble each piece.

Fold the edges together and use tape to attach them.

Once you've got both pieces assembled you can stick them together!

You've now got a Light-up MINECRAFT-Inspired Torch!

The assembly techniques are all pretty similar, so just check the instructions for each project.

A few of them use a vibrating motor instead of an LED and will move around instead of lighting up!
